Choosing a topic
Before you start writing, make sure you search the current articles in case another member has already covered the same topic. Your article may be in the form of an article covering a particular subject or discussion, or a tutorial, following a step-by-step format. When researching your article you might find it helpful to also search our support forum since we may have already discussed the topic and expanded on various points.
Writing the article
There is no maximum or minimum word limit. However please make sure that your article contains a clear structure:
- Heading
- Abstract or brief introduction
- Main content
- Conclusion or summary
Feel free to use the formatting options provided in our forum content management system such as bold, italics, font size (for headings) and lists. You should make use of headings and lists to make the content more readable.
If you need web space to upload Zip files, pages, or images for your article, then please contact a moderator and they will upload these for you.
Publishing the article
Articles and tutorials are stored in our support forum. If you are not yet a member then you will need to register for a forum user account. Once logged in, you should publish your article as a new topic in the main "Articles and Tutorials" parent forum. Our moderator team will approve the content, make any formatting ammendments, and move it to the appropriate sub-forum category. Only then will your article appear on the live Articles and Tutorials area of the OpenHosting site.
